Optimal Control of Ordinary Differential Equations I (MA3312)

  Lecture: Tuesday, 14:15 - 15:45, MI 03.10.011;
  Excercise course: Friday, 10:15 - 11:45, MI 03.06.011, every two weeks (exercise starts on 10/23/2015)

 

Course description

Necessary conditions (Euler-Lagrange, Legendre-Clebsch), control constraints, different types of state constraints, application problems

At the end of the module, students are able to formulate and analyze important classes of optimal control problems for ordinary differential equations and to transform them in a way suitable for numerical treatment. They are able to apply problems from science and engineering.

 

Language

Standard language is English. Only by request of all participants (without exception!), the lecture and the exercise course will be given in German.

 

Prerequisites

Prerequisites (strongly recommended): MA2302 Numerical Analysis, MA2005 Ordinary Differential Equations
